Agricultural Knowledge Center Jhapa has informed that chaite paddy cultivation has been started on 20 thousand hectares of land in the district.
Among them, Krishi Gyan Kendra has planted chaite paddy for testing using modern technology on 48 bighas of eight municipalities.
The head of the center, Sagar Bisht, informed that under the Agricultural Mechanization Demonstration Program, Chaite Paddy was planted by machine (technology demonstration) with the aim of giving direct information to the farmers that farming using machinery is cheaper than traditional farming.
He said that chait paddy was planted on 120 hectares of land this year using modern agricultural mechanization. According to him, in the past, all agricultural groups and cooperatives conducted by the Knowledge Center for sample testing have continuously cultivated Chaite paddy this year using agricultural mechanization.
With the help of local municipalities, the center has been encouraging farmers to plant Hardinath-1 paddy since the past. He said, "Because it produces better than other rice, we have recommended planting the seeds of this rice."
This year, the use of agricultural machinery has been demonstrated in Gauriganj Rural Municipality, Gauradah Municipality, Shivasatakshi Municipality, Kamal Rural Municipality, Buddhashanti Rural Municipality, Arjundhara Municipality, Bhadrapur Municipality, Haldibari Rural Municipality. It has been said that the center has supported the selected agricultural groups with rice seeds, seed trays and technology.
