With the aim of connecting the district with China's Tibet, the Benighat-Arughat Larke road, which is being constructed by the Nepali Army, has been opened for 42 km so far. Vehicles have started moving at 36 km.
According to Purnachandra Dhakal, a soldier of the road construction task force of the Nepali Army, 36 kilometers of the 42 kilometers opened by the Nepali Army have been motored.
The road has been dug up to Chumanubri Rural Municipality-3 Pewa. The motor has reached Pangsing. He said that because the road was not cleared after digging the road, the remaining seven kilometers section could not be driven.
Out of 154 km of Benighat, Arughat, Larke road, 92 km of road from Hawadanda was done by Nepali army. Because of the big walls and hard rocks, the road department has assigned the army to work on that section to do the blasting.
Out of the 154 km section from Larke Bhanjang to China border, 62 km from Benighat to Hawadanda was done by the Gorkha Road Planning Office. The army has also handed over the section up to Dobhan, which has been made open for vehicles, to the Gorkha Road Planning Office.
The road planning office and the army have constructed a total of 97 km of vehicles have started plying. Soldier Dhakal informed that the Nepali Army has built a bailey bridge at Machikhola to facilitate the movement of vehicles even during the rainy season.
According to him, 7 million rupees have been allocated by the Nepal government for digging two kilometers of tracks this financial year. He said that the work to be done under the allocated budget is almost finished.

The road will be connected to China's border through Lapubensi, Machakhola, Jagat, Chumanbri Rural Municipality, Bihi, Prok, Samgaon, Samdo. This road is seen as the life line of North Gorkha.
