A strategic partnership agreement has been signed between Confederation of Banks and Financial Institutions Nepal (CBFIN) and Kathmandu Fintech Pvt Ltd (KF) with the aim of promoting digital transformation, leadership development and good governance in the Nepali banking sector.
The agreement was signed by Roshan Koirala, Director General of CBFin and Sanjeev Subba, founder of Kathmandu FinTech. Speaking after the signing, Roshan Koirala, Director General of CBFin said, "This important collaboration with Kathmandu FinTech will prove to be a milestone in making the Nepali banking sector stronger, safer, competitive and innovative by transforming it into digital technology." It is a great achievement for us to have the opportunity to provide world-class knowledge on digital banking, cyber security and fintech to the members of the board of directors of Nepali banks and financial institutions and the renowned banking leaders,' said Subba, the founder of Kathmandu Fintech, 'this collaboration will contribute significantly to the upgrading of digital banking, technology-driven innovation and overall financial services.' It is mentioned in the agreement that cooperation will be carried out in conducting projects related to good governance, compliance, strategic financial management, adoption of digital technology and fintech in the banking sector, and organizing cyber security orientation training and training programs and high-level conferences, conducting special training for strategic leadership development and decision-making capacity enhancement, promoting banking access and inclusive financial literacy for social and economic transformation, ethical banking practices, and enhancing good governance .
Similarly, it is said that a report will be made public after studying and researching challenges and opportunities, entrepreneurship and innovation in the banking sector. According to the
agreement, Kathmandu Fintech will provide program planning, resource management and technical expertise, while CBfin will support the effective implementation of projects through its network and strategic guidance. The partner claims that this collaboration will play an important role in strengthening the banking sector of Nepal, which is traveling towards digital transformation, by making it more digital technology-friendly, strategically strong and focused on governance.
