Gajendra Bhatt of Dodhara Chandni Municipality-3 was studying Electrical Overseer in Butwal. He returned home after the lockdown started across the country due to corona infection. He is interested in repairing electrical goods and repaired them himself by collecting broken LED bulbs (chims) and torches from all over the village during the lockdown. Sometimes they used to buy broken chims and make them.

During the lockdown, Gajendra also learned how to make LED bulbs from YouTube. Then he started making bulbs by bringing the necessary materials from India and China. He is earning around one lakh per month from the business he started with an investment of 35,000.

Gajendra now produces different types of bulbs not only in the local market but also sends them to Mahendranagar, Dhangadhi, Butwal and Kathmandu. Bhatt says that his products are being consumed in all the hilly districts of Far West. He said that he makes about 500 bulbs a day. 

'Now we are making bulbs and promoting them, the market is also expanding,' Bhatt said, 'I was interested in this kind of work from a young age, that's why I did my studies on the same subject, I started learning and working during the lockdown.' He is doing this work by opening GB Ideal Group Udyog. In this business, he has also given employment to other youth who are studying in the village by teaching them skills.

4 people studying in class 12 now make light bulbs daily. They get a wage of Rs 10 per bulb. They say that one person can make 1/150 in a day.

"We go to school in the morning, we work to make bulbs during the day," said local Pravinsingh Bisht, who is studying in the 12th standard in the village, "We are also earning income while studying, it has become easier for the family." He does not work regularly. They come to work only on holidays and when there is a lot of demand. He said that even by working 12/15 days in a month, he earns 25/30 thousand. He also learned to make LED bulbs from Bhatt.

Amrit Nepali, who is studying hotel management in class 12 at a local school, has also been working on making bulbs for a year. There is no income earner in his family. He said that by making bulbs, he earns up to 25,000 per month and from that he is raising his education and home expenses. "I work 10/15 days a month to earn my education and home expenses," Nepali said. He can also produce up to one hundred and fifty bulbs in a day.
