The Ministry of Finance has discussed the budget for the upcoming financial year 2082/83 separately with the Ministry of Health and Population and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply.
During the discussion, the Ministry of Finance requested to proceed with preparations for the next year's budget, programs that should be continued, programs that should be modified, programs that should be postponed, programs that should be removed and new programs.
During the discussion with the Ministry of Health and Population, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel requested to review the health insurance program, basic hospital, responsibility of health establishments, manpower in the health sector and make a program to make them effective.
Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel said that it is necessary to clarify the role of the state and the private sector in the health sector. He expressed the view that it would be appropriate to implement the insurance program in a long-term manner.
In the discussion with the Ministry of Industry, Finance Minister Poudel asked to address the policy issues and create an environment that would facilitate the industry and business sector. He said that it is necessary to focus on job creation, increase in production and how industrialization can be done in the country. Industries Minister Damodar Bhandari stressed that they should be implemented by reforming policy.
Prakash Kumar Shrestha, a member of the National Planning Commission, said that the trend of weak implementation capacity and inability to produce results should be improved. In the
discussion, Finance Secretary, Revenue Secretary, Health and Population Ministry Secretary, Industry Ministry Secretary, Departmental Head and others were present.
The Ministry of Finance has already discussed the budget for the new financial year with the Ministry of Physical, Urban and Energy.
