Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Prasad Pandey received the award in Germany. He was honored with the 'Tourism Minister of the Air Award' on Wednesday in Berlin, Germany.
On the occasion of the 'World Tourism and Aviation Summit-2025' organized by the Pacific Asia Travel Writers Association (Patwa) in Berlin, Minister Pandey was awarded as the best tourism minister of the year from the countries of the Himalayan region by the Nepal Tourism Board According to the press release.
Since 1999, this award has been presented at the annual ceremony of ITB Berlin and is presented to the Minister of Tourism of the country who has made special contributions to the tourism sector. The board said that receiving this award, which is considered historically important for Nepal, is an international recognition of the policies and plans adopted for the promotion of tourism in Nepal. After accepting the
award, Minister Pandey said that this achievement should be taken as a great honor for Nepal's tourism sector rather than a personal one. He said, 'It is a pleasure to receive this prestigious award from Patwa . This award is not only for me, but for Nepal's tourism sector and all the concerned bodies who are working tirelessly to establish it at the world level . Tourism in Nepal has always been moving forward based on innovation, community participation and determination. This award has inspired us to work in the field of more sustainable and inclusive tourism.'
Minister Pandey also said that the 'artificial intelligence' that has come with the development of technology is making a great contribution to the tourism sector. He said that the goal of the government is to preserve the originality of Nepal by balancing technology with community-run tourism.
