Maoist Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that a separate law is needed to regulate the gold and silver business, which is being traded in large quantities.
In a program organized here today on the occasion of the 12th foundation day of the Nepal Gold and Silver Business Association, President Dahal said that the role of businessmen in the country's economy is unparalleled. Mentioning that the state should not fail in creating an investment environment for businessmen, he said, 'When a business environment is created, it not only helps the economy but also creates jobs.'
President Dahal said that the availability of raw materials needed for businessmen should be from the provincial level when the country has gone to the federal system. 'There is a situation where we have to amend some of the laws we have made. Today, due to legal disturbances, businessmen are not able to get raw materials easily,' he said.
President Dahal stressed that the government should encourage businessmen to advance business in a traditional way. He said that the party will put pressure on the government through the House for that. He said that it is wrong to tax gold and silver as a luxury item and it should be removed.
