The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has allocated a budget of Rs 1 crore for the expansion of Tarigaon Airport in Dang Tulsipur.
In addition, Deputy Head of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City Syani Chaudhary informed that the ministry has written to the Ministry of Finance to ensure an additional 990 million budget.
The airport, which was established in 2011, is not able to land even large aircraft. At present, the length of the airport is 750 meters.
If it can be increased to 1,500 meters, 72-seater ships can land. But now only 19-seater ships can stay. Deputy Chief Chowdhury said that since the small ships were not able to benefit significantly, those ships were left to stay.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli visited the airport a few days ago.
