The reconstruction of the Sim Khola bridge and the Cisneri road under the Kulekhani hydropower project dam, which was damaged by the last October landslide, will be done before the monsoon. A bailey bridge is going to be put in the seam river under the dam of the project. For this, Bagmati province's transport infrastructure directorate, Hetaunda, has called for contracts on Monday.

A contract has been issued with a cost estimate of 1 crore 79 lakhs for keeping the Beilibridge and constructing the access road. Chandradev Bhatt, spokesperson of the directorate, said that the belay bridge located in Mandu river located in Bhimfedi rural municipality-6 in Sim river will be removed. The Beilibridge there is unused as it has been constructed and operated by a concrete bridge over the Mandu River.

After the Kulekhani was filled with heavy rain, when the gate was opened to stop the 'overflow', the flood damaged the road along with the Sim Khola bridge in the lower part of the Kulekhani Dam located in Indrasarovar Rural Municipality-2. Now, by diverting from the river, the vehicular traffic between Hetaunda and Kathmandu has been operated. Suman Shrestha, Ward President of Indrasarovar-2, pointed out that even though the vehicular traffic has been eased for the time being by installing a belay bridge, a concrete bridge is needed to solve the long-term problem.

"Considering the possible damage caused by the Kulekhani dam, a concrete bridge should be constructed now," he said. The road of Sisneri, which was damaged by Kulekhani's flood, will also be reconstructed before the rainy season. The head of the project, Devnarayan Gautam, said that for the reconstruction of 1,200 meters of road in the Kulekhani-Sisneri section, Bagmati government's infrastructure development special project, Hetaunda, has called for a contract for 2 sections.

Indrasarovar-3 700 meters in Ekantakuna Lamabagar and 500 meters in Indrasarovar-2 Dodare, the project has released a contract with a cost estimate of more than 7.5 million rupees. The period of road reconstruction work is till the end of June.

Vehicles traveling to the capital via Hetaunda-Kulekhani-Sisneri from Dakshinkali now pass through the river Sisneri. Ekantakuna-Lamabagar and Dodare have no roads. The road itself has turned into a bog," said Devkrishna Pudasaini, chairman of the rural municipality. In the second week of October, the flood washed away 40 houses in Cisneri market.
