Janakpur Customs Office has collected revenue of Rs.

The annual target of the office is to collect revenue of Rs. 577.17 million. Compared to the annual revenue target for the current year, only 43 percent of the revenue has been collected so far, according to Ravinslal Das, the customs officer of the office.

According to him, 77.78 percent in July of the current year, 56 in August, 77.45 in October, 68.71 in October, 76.60 in November, 86.31 in January, 79.65 in January and 25.79 percent by February 15 have been collected.

According to customs officer Das, semi-finished clothes, hardware materials, tiles, granite, coal, agricultural produce, pesticides for agriculture, food, vegetables and fruits, sports materials, stationery, glass products of various industries, and household items were imported from Jatahi border.

Inaruwa, Mainathpur and Bhadiya Chhoti customs offices are also under the said customs office. That office has the right to collect customs revenue up to five thousand rupees. The main reason for the decrease compared to the revenue collection target is the lack of control of theft and smuggling, economic recession, etc.
