After the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), an international body that oversees money laundering, placed Nepal on the 'grey list', the government has been asked to answer in the parliament about the preparations being made by Nepal to get out of it.

During today's special meeting of the House of Representatives, MP Uday Shamsher Jabara demanded an answer from the government regarding the process of getting Nepal out of the "grey list" of FATF. Mainly due to the weak regulation of the cooperative sector, Nepal has been included in FATF's gray list. What is Nepal's plan to increase the regulation of cooperatives and get out of the gray list as soon as possible? Parliament should be informed about this,' he said.

Nepal's sovereign credit rating (credit rating) has received a 'double B minus' and since it is better than most of the South Asian countries, MP Jabara said that Nepal should be able to benefit from this. He also drew the attention of the government about the delay in the construction of Kanti Lokpath.

Member of Parliament Jabara said that the construction of the BP highway, which was damaged due to floods and landslides last October, should be accelerated.  He raised issues such as the delay in the construction of various road sections and the increased risk of floods and landslides due to haphazard digging of roads. After assessing the damage caused by the flood and landslide last October, MP Jabara asked the government to complete the reconstruction work in those places as soon as possible.
