The foundation stone of 28.304 MW capacity of Chamelia hydroelectric project will be laid at Marma in Darchula. The foundation stone of the project run by Darchula Power Limited was laid on Saturday.
Member of the House of Representatives and former minister Dilendra Prasad Badu laid the foundation stone in the hydropower dam area in Marma rural municipality-2 Lambagar.
Darchula Power Limited, which is located in Sherry, has informed that the Dam Lambgar and the power plant of the hydroelectric scheme. Guru Nyaypane, the owner of the project, informed that the cost of the project, which will be completed in 3 years, is more than 6 trillion 23 crores 62 lakhs. Electricity will be transmitted to Chamelia from Sherry through an 8 and a half kilometer long transmission line.
Chairman of the House of Representatives Infrastructure Development Committee Deepak Bahadur Singh, former minister Ganesh Singh Thagunna, members of the Sudurpaschim State Assembly Man Bahadur Dhami and Bikram Singh Dhami also participated in the foundation laying ceremony.
