Thirteen of the 1,000 people selected in the first round as caregivers at the long-term care center flew to Israel, their labor destination, on Monday. After the conflict with the Palestinian group Hamas started, the process of Nepali workers going to Israel was stopped.

According to the Israeli embassy for Nepal, 100 out of 1,000 people have received their visas, while others are in the process. 2 thousand 112 people were selected based on lucky draw from the list of 3 thousand 461 people who qualified for Israel. In the first phase, the process of sending 1,000 people has been advanced.

According to the embassy, after the 1000 workers selected in the first phase have flown, the second phase workers will be sent . According to the labor agreement between Nepal and Israel, workers will be sent to long-term care centers through government mechanisms. The government has been proposing to take all the workers who are qualified and listed to Israel as needed.

Long-term care centers have the highest number of 1,345 Nepalis employed. They have been saying that they are safe. The monthly salary of a Nepali working as a caregiver is set at 5880 Israeli currency (about 200,000 rupees). Its contract period will initially be one year . After that it will be up to a maximum of 5 years .

There are about 14,000 long-term care centers in Israel. Last August, Israel proceeded with the process of taking 15,000 workers including 5,000 caregivers from India.
