Carrots and beets produced in Chitwan have started to be exported to Germany. Carrots and beetroot planted in 12 bighas in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-15 Sripur have started to be exported to Germany.

Chandra Prasad Adhikari, President of the District Organic Association Chitwan, said that "The Agricultural Valley" organization has started sending carrots and beets produced here for 2 years abroad. Carrots and beets planted by 15 farmers belonging to the association were exported to Germany.

Stating that the 20 bigha area under cultivation has been recognized as an agricultural area, he said, '60 percent of the 12 bigha area has been planted with carrots and 40 percent with beetroot.'  The organization has exported 100 tons of beets and 150 tons of carrots to Germany. He said that with the aim of promoting local production and encouraging farmers, the export of agricultural produce has been certified internationally.

association member Chabilal Neupane said that carrots going to Germany will be priced at Rs 20 per kg and beetroots at Rs 50 per kg. Apart from carrots and beets, wheat, lentils, barley, grass, potatoes and other vegetables have been produced in the agricultural areas.
