Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Deepak Khadka has said that his visit to India has been successful. Minister Khadka, who returned home after participating in 'India Energy Week-2025', while talking to reporters at Tribhuvan Airport on Thursday evening, said that many projects of bilateral interest were discussed during his visit.

He said that Nepal will get Mahakali river water from Tanakpur dam soon. He said that there was an agreement on releasing water from Tanakpur Dam soon and now it is time to take facilities from the dam. Minister Khadka said that discussions were held to finalize the Pancheshwar project towards irrigation.

He said that there was some discussion about Koshi. A discussion was held to advance our big irrigation projects to Pancheswar and an agreement has been reached. Now, our discussion has been held as the final decision will be made soon in the meeting of the Prime Ministers. There have been some discussions about Koshi,'' Minister Khadka said, 'It has been agreed that it should be left in Tanakpur. It has been a long time that no meeting was held between the two countries even regarding irrigation. The meeting was successfully held between the ministers of both the countries as there was a kind of agreement that the meeting will be held on the 22nd-24th.

Minister Khadka said that the issue of international transmission line was also discussed. Our plan is to sell 10,000 megawatts abroad and more than 5,000 megawatts in India and Bangladesh. As part of the plan that the country has put forward with the decision of the Council of Ministers, it has been decided that we will build a transmission line going through India to Bangladesh in the next 10 years from 17 to 18 thousand,' he said.
