Bal Bahadur Parajuli, a member of the Board of Directors of Nepal Electricity Authority, has resigned. Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Deepak Khadka appointed Bal Bahadur Parajuli and Laxman KC as members of the board of directors of the authority on December 2.
Less than two months after being appointed as a member of the board of directors of the authority, Parajuli resigned on January 27 due to personal work. Energy Minister Khadka has already accepted his resignation on the same day, according to sources related to the ministry. Parajuli was appointed by the consumer.
Parajuli is also a hydropower expert in the board of directors of Remit Hydro Limited. The website mentions that Parajuli is a director (hydropower expert) on the board of directors of Remit Hydro Limited.
KC is the president of Nepali Congress close Center for Democratic Engineers Nepal (CDEN) while Parajuli is close to UML . Their tenure will be 4 years .
Janardhan Joshi filed a writ against the appointment of KC on December 18 in Patan High Court. The single bench of the court Judge Tikaram Acharya issued an interim order to keep the appointment decision and the nomination letter as it is without implementing the decision until the final decision is made on December 26. Since then KC has not been able to work as a director of the authority .
