The government has transferred two director generals of the Internal Revenue and Customs Department, who have the most role in the country's revenue collection, within five months. Two months after the formation of the government led by KP Sharma Oli, both of them, who became the director general last August, were transferred by the cabinet meeting on Monday within six months of assuming the post. Finance Secretary Ram Prasad Ghimire was also transferred to the President's office in Monday's meeting.

The Cabinet has transferred 17 Joint Secretaries and the Director General of Revenue has been transferred to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and the National Planning Commission. As soon as the leadership of every government changes, the director general of the department changes and is not allowed to work for a long time, this time too.

After Bishnu Paudel became Finance Minister, the former Director General Bhupal Baral was removed from Internal Revenue in two months and transferred to Forest and Environment Department. Ramprasad Acharya was sent in his place. Acharya has also been transferred in 6 months. The former director general of the customs department, Sobhakant Paudel, was removed after nine months and Harisharan Pudasaini was brought in. He was also removed in 6 months. Pudasaini was transferred from Bagmati Province Ministry of Tourism and made Director General.

The joint secretaries have been transferred while the data is being released that the revenue has not been collected as per the target. The reason for the transfer of the director general, who was selected and sent by the government 6 months ago, has not been revealed. The government had transferred Finance Secretary Ram Prasad Ghimire on Monday. Ghanshyam Upadhyay, secretary of the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission, has been brought in his place. Ghimire also got the opportunity to be the Finance Secretary for only 7 months. Along with the secretary, the director general of two important departments has changed.

The Council of Ministers has transferred Chief District Officer of Makwanpur Teerthraj Chiluwal to the Ministry of Finance. Finance Joint Secretary Tirtharaj Mainali has been sent to the National Information Commission. After the election of 2074, Mainali, who was the director general of revenue research for almost three and a half years during Oli's prime ministership, has now been removed from the Ministry of Finance. 

Kamal Prasad Bhattarai of the National Information Commission has been transferred to the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security. He is a former Joint Secretary, Director General of Customs and AML. Adesh Khadka, who was in the Additional Group in the Federal Ministry, has been transferred to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. Shrichandra Shah, who is in the additional group in the federal ministry, has been taken to the finance ministry, while Parvati Aryal of the Women's Commission has been transferred to the finance ministry.
