Lower Solukhola hydropower of 82 megawatt capacity under construction in Tingla area of the district has reached the final stage of construction. The physical progress of the project has reached 95 percent.

Generators, turbine connections, head boxes, power houses, tunnels and other structures of the project promoted by Tallasolu Hydropower Company Limited have been constructed. According to Dharmendra Gotame, manager of

company, the penstock tunnel of the project has reached the stage of 'bake through'.  He said, "The work of the project  It has reached the final stage. Now only the penstock pipe is left. Our goal is to have a commercial production in the coming August.'' The construction work was started from August 2016 with the loan investment of 16 billion rupees from the European Bank (International Funding Agency) including FMO. The project is targeted to be completed by September 2025.

The water has been collected by building a dam in the Solu river in Salme area, which is on the border of Solududhakunda municipality-7 and 11. The water will be pumped to the power house at Bhadaure in Tingla, about six kilometers away. A five kilometer long tunnel has been constructed for this purpose.

Due to the geographical difficulties and the long tunnel route, he estimates that the cost may be higher than the estimated cost. At present, seven hundred workers are employed in the project. In addition, hundreds of local people have also got jobs.  After the completion of the

project, a minimum of 23 megawatts of electricity will be produced in winter and 82 megawatts in rainy season. The generated electricity will be connected to the national transmission line through Tingla substation.
