It is necessary to modernize agriculture: Minister of Communications

Communication and Information Technology Minister Prithvisubba Gurung has said that it is necessary to modernize agriculture for the development of villages.

 

After inaugurating the borehole under Simalchaur underground irrigation in Lamjung Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-8, Minister Gurung urged to emphasize farming and production in the local area. 

Stating that the work of building infrastructure is the government's and the work of development activities is the work of the people, Minister Gurung promised to deliver telephone and internet to the homes of Lamjung in the current financial year.

Minister Gurung, who is also the spokesperson of the government, also urged to make full use of the boring irrigation after it came into operation and informed that the current government is taking many steps for the benefit of the people. He also asked not to worry about whether the government will fall or not because the two big parties have come together to reform the country that is broken and about to collapse. 

Commenting that the previous government created instability in the country, Minister Gurung said, 'Due to political instability, the budget came after the government . The current government is practicing to solve all these problems because the revenue did not rise well, and the expenditure could not be spent. Minister Gurung says that the situation of needing to farm in Barkhepani will be solved after the boring. 

Chairman of Ward 8 Dhansingh Tamang mentioned that many farms remain barren due to lack of water and expressed his belief that farming will be easier after the boring is operational. Panchakali Gurung, a local consumer, expressed his belief that boring will be helpful for the irrigation of Simalchaur village. With the operation of boring, more than 150 households will get farming facilities.
