Mallarani Rural Municipality of Pyuthan has distributed subsidies to farmers within the municipality based on production. The subsidy was distributed based on the agricultural produce produced by the farmers within the rural municipality.

Subsidies have been given to farmers on a quarterly basis under the subsidy program based on production implemented since the current financial year 081/082. In the current financial year, the Mallarani Rural Municipality has already provided the amount of two quarters to the farmers.

  Agricultural produce produced by farmers is collected at the collection center located in Khalanga village center and based on that, farmers are given subsidy according to Moti Acharya, the head of the agriculture branch of the village. 

Mallarani Sana Kisan Krishi Sahakari of agricultural produce distributes sales and keeps data. Based on the data kept by the collection center, the rural municipality gives grants. Acharya, head of the agriculture branch, informed that the rural municipality has given 141,950 rupees cash subsidy to 13 farmers for the first time and 13 farmers for the second time in the current year.

In the first quarter, 118 kg of fruits, 469 kg of onions and 469 kg of vegetables, and 4557 kg of vegetables came to the collection center. The collection center sells and distributes it. In the second quarter, farmers collected 4 thousand 575 kg of fruits and vegetables, 118 kg of khasiboka (jiuado), and 336 carats of eggs at the collection center. 

The rural municipality has been giving subsidies from a minimum of 5 rupees to a maximum of 50 rupees per kilogram depending on the agricultural produce. Krishna Bahadur Khadka, Chairman of Mallarani Rural Municipality, said that Rs 50 for honey/ghee, Rs 20 for kashiboka, Rs 15 for onion/garlic/ginger, Rs 15 for fruits and Rs 10 for other vegetables.
