Japan's support for Nepal's development will continue: Ambassador Mayda

Japan's newly appointed ambassador to Nepal, Toru Maeda, has said that Japan will continue its economic and technical support for the development of Nepal.

In the welcome program organized here today in honor of the newly appointed Ambassador Mayda by the Nepal JICA Alumni Association (JAN), he said that Nepal-Japan has had a friendly, close and harmonious relationship for a long time. 

Ambassador Mayda said, 'At present, about two lakh Nepalis are involved in various professions and businesses including studying in Japan. There is still a need in Japan for Nepali manpower with knowledge of Japanese language, culture and Japan.'

Recalling that he visited Nepal many years ago to see the beautiful mountains and mountains and received warm love from the Nepali citizens wherever he went, Ambassador Mayda expressed his happiness to come to Nepal now as an ambassador. Mentioning that the members of 'JAN' are playing a significant role in smoothing the relations between the two countries, he expressed his belief that the members of JAN will play an important role in the future to smooth the relations between the two countries and for the development of Nepal. Ramchandra Bhusal, the president of JAN, the organizing organization of the

program, said that JAN has played a significant role in smoothing the relationship between Nepal and Japan for the past five decades, introducing Japanese technology to Nepal and supporting the country's economic development. In order to expand the relationship between the two countries, the Almanai Association has been providing various support to the rural communities of Lalitpur and Sindhupalchok and also handing out seedlings of the famous Japanese tree sakura. 

The main resident representative of JICA Nepal, Mizuki Machuzaki, senior officials of the government, members of JAN, high-ranking officials of the Japanese Embassy and JICA Nepal and distinguished people from various fields participated in the welcome program.
