Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Devendra Dahal has said that the current need is to complete the started plans rather than adding new plans. According to him, the government can continue to add new schemes according to the resources and needs, but the process of stalling the started schemes should end now.
Heads of the Federal Road Supervision and Monitoring Office Surkhet held in Nepalganj during the opening of the workshop on Sunday. He also instructed Dahal to prioritize and complete the 'chronic' projects and plans.
'It is a regular process for the government to regularly add and bring new plans and projects according to the resources and needs it has,' Minister Dahal said, 'but now, instead of adding new plans and projects, emphasis should be placed on completing the works that have been started, blocked and chronic. There should not be a situation of frustration among the citizens due to the project. Giving instructions to speed up the work to be done by the division and project offices, he said that if there is a problem in the performance due to policy and legal issues, the ministry will facilitate the work. He also said that it will not be blocked.
Ministry Secretary Keshav Kumar Sharma, Road Department Director General Ramhari Pokharel along with experts will provide orientation regarding project operation and management . Pramod Khatiwada, the engineer of the ministry, informed that this type of orientation and training was completed in Pokhara, Morang and Kathmandu earlier.
