The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, the Chinese Embassy, Bhaktapur Municipality and the Nepal Tourism Board jointly organized the announcement of 'Nepal Visit Year 2025' and the launch of 'Chinese New Year 2025' on Saturday.
Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Deepak Khadka and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song jointly inaugurated the visit year in a program held at Bhaktapur Durbar Square. In the
program, Minister Khadka said that Nepal is an excellent destination for international tourists. He said that the government of Nepal will take every effort to expand the economic, social and political relations between the two countries and mentioned that Nepal's tourism sector is becoming viable after the Covid epidemic.
Minister Khadka expressed the belief that Nepal and China will be able to cooperate in the fields of tourism, energy and agriculture during the current year of the tour. "Necessary infrastructure construction and upgrading works are being done for the development of the tourism sector", he said.
Minister Khadka informed that keeping in mind the potential and importance of the tourism sector in the social and economic development of Nepal, the Government of Nepal is giving high priority to the tourism sector and is working in a planned manner. He said that the provincial and local levels have been prioritizing the tourism sector as a common means of economic prosperity of Nepal.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Song said that the visit year 2025 will further strengthen the relationship between the two countries. Stating that the mutual cooperation between Nepal and China is progressing rapidly, he mentioned that there has been an agreement between Nepal and China to strengthen the cooperation in the fields of youth, education, culture, tourism and other fields, to further strengthen human relations and to continue the friendship from generations.
Ambassador Song said that the visit was organized in 2025 in connection with the implementation of the agreement between the two countries. "We will warmly welcome Nepal to China to organize promotional activities for Nepal Tourism Year in 2025 and encourage Chinese tourists to visit Nepal," he said. '
Ambassador Song said that Nepal Tourism Year 2025 was organized to implement the agreements reached in the past between Nepal and China, to further enhance the cooperation in the field of tourism between the two countries and to further strengthen the human relations between the two countries.
Nepal is a world-famous tourist destination, he opined that the high Himalayas, mountain range, natural beauty of Chitwan National Park, natural as well as cultural and historical heritage such as Lumbini, Kathmandu, Janakpur are attracting tourists from different countries to visit Nepal every year.
Chief of Bhaktapur Municipality Sunil Prajapati, recalling the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China in 1955, said that China will promote tourism in Nepal and encourage Chinese tourists to visit Nepal. said.
Saying that Nepal is a country with great potential in terms of tourism, Mayor Prajapati emphasized that since Nepal has the world's highest Mount Everest and other Himalayan mountains, natural beauty, Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, and many places listed as world heritage sites, everyone should cooperate in promoting tourism here. He said that due to lack of effective and timely promotion of tourist spots in the country, the expected number of tourists could not come.
Stating that Chinese tourists are the second largest number of foreign tourists visiting Bhaktapur, City Chief Prajapati requested that Bhaktapur should also be prioritized during the visit to Nepal by high-ranking officials of the Chinese government.
Nepal Tourism Board Executive Director Deepakraj Joshi said that the government has declared 2025 as a special tourism year and said that everyone's support and cooperation is necessary to make the tourism year a success. In the
