As the financial crisis deepens in the Hetauda cement industry, cement production is in confusion.  The industry management had stopped cement production from last October 15, saying that the repair work of various equipment of the industry should be done.

The industry administration said that they would start production from the first week of last November after repairing the equipment, but they could not start the production because the repair work of the equipment was not completed. "Equipment repair is one part of not being able to start production, but that alone does not stop production," Hareram Acharya, head of administration and spokesperson of Hetauda Cement Industry said, "As the financial problems are increasing, there is more confusion about when to start production. Now the production is stopped, but there are regular expenses.'  He said that even though the production of the

industry has been stopped, the salary and allowances of the employees have to be paid, some fuel expenses and similar maintenance expenses are being incurred, so the financial problems in the industry are increasing.

When the production is stopped, the employees are sitting there and spending the day. Spokesman Acharya said that there are 166 permanent workers, 100 daily wage workers and 318 security personnel working in that industry.

According to him, there is also a problem of the raw materials needed by the industry for the immediate operation of the industry. "If the industry operates daily, at least 120 tons of raw material coal will be required daily," he said, "but even that is not available and there is no possibility of coal coming immediately as the old payment for coal has not been made." Moreover, due to financial problems, the employees could not be paid for the work done in overtime.

Due to financial problems, the electricity authority has not been able to pay the tariff for a long time, and now the arrears have been added. "We have consumed electricity but we have not been able to pay the tariff," he said. Therefore, he said, it is not possible to ask the Electricity Authority to supply electricity regularly.

This industry was established in 2033 at Lamsure of Hetauda and started producing cement from 2043. According to the technician, the equipment is old and not in a condition to produce properly. "The equipment is old and broken, we are not able to produce cement relatively," said Kameshwar Mandal, technical head of the industry. Yes, we can repair it soon.' After that, cement can be produced, he said.

Hetauda Cement Industry, which has been dealing with one problem after another, started cement production from the third week of August 2081.  During this period, 65,000 sacks of cement were produced. The industry, which has the capacity to produce 16,000 sacks of cement per day, has collapsed due to financial problems.

After the repair work of the equipment is completed, preparations are being made to start cement production from the second week of this month of January.

'The repair work of the equipment including the clinical machine of the industry is still going on,' President Bhandari said, 'We had estimated that the repair work would be completed by the second week of January and then we would start the work of cement products again.' But as the equipment repair work has not yet been completed, it may take a few more days to resume the production of the industry, he said. He said that despite the financial problems with the

industry, preparations are being made to start cement production as soon as the repair work of the equipment is completed. Chairman Bhandari said that maintenance is taking time because workers have to be brought from India to make industrial equipment, and the maintenance work is going on rapidly, so it will be completed soon and production is ready to start soon after that.
