Nepal Telecommunication Company Limited (Nepal Telecom) has reported that it has earned a profit of Rs. The company has submitted revenue of 41.59 billion rupees to the government.
Telecom's 17th annual general meeting held on January 28 has also passed a proposal to distribute cash dividends to shareholders at the rate of Rs. 30 per share from this year's profit.
The secretary of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Radhika Aryal, who is also the chairman of the board of directors of the company, while submitting the annual report at the general assembly, said that the company prioritizes service over profit. Aryal said that the
company has completed the expansion of Volte and FTTH services based on 4G/LTE technology to make the information technology more efficient and effective.
He said that the work of extending services using appropriate technology to the rest of the local levels which are extremely difficult and remote, has been continued, the policy of expanding high-bandwidth connectivity throughout the country and expanding content-based value added services has been continued.
'Considering the number of customers using voice service based on 2G technology, the work of increasing and improving its quality as well as delivering 4G service to all customers has been continued,' she said, 'according to the approval of 5G technology from the Nepal Telecommunication Authority. After successful testing with the necessary infrastructure, the study is being carried out for the commercial operation of the Five G service According to Nepal Telecom, arrangements have been made for distribution to common shareholders since January 28.
