The second meeting of Nepal-India Joint Business Forum (JBF) has agreed to facilitate the business related to agriculture and medicinal plants between the two countries. According to the press release issued by the Federation of Nepal Industry and Commerce, the meeting held in Kathmandu on Saturday also agreed on cooperation in hydropower, renewable energy, solar, wind and other projects.

'Promotion of clean energy, tourism and connectivity, facilitating cross-border trade by strengthening road, rail and air connectivity, trade and cross-border investment, agriculture and medicinal plants, removing quotas of agricultural products and providing superior seeds and technology, cooperation in research and commercialization of medicinal plants, It has been agreed to facilitate necessary issues including digital technology and start-up support,' said the statement.

On this occasion, both countries have also pledged to cooperate in solving the problems seen in trade. The matters agreed in the meeting have been handed over to the Secretary of Commerce of Nepal and India. 

Representatives of Nepal and India participated in the meeting held with the aim of strengthening the economic and commercial relations between the two countries. Mentioning that India is Nepal's largest trade partner, Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Damodar Bhandari emphasized that both sides should implement the agreement reached at the JBF meeting. On the same occasion, India's Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal pledged to take initiatives from his side to implement the agenda raised in JBF. 

Federation President Chandra Prasad Dhakal emphasized that there is immense potential in the economic field between Nepal and India and to solve the problems seen in both areas, policy reforms and practical solutions should be found.
