Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Prasad Pandey has said that the government will soon put Pokhara International Airport into operation.

He said this while speaking at the tourism and economy flight program of Golden Nepal Gandaki in Pokhara on Friday. He said that the government is making all efforts for the operation of Pokhara International Airport. He said that the government is trying to create an investment environment in Pokhara as the airport is expected to come into operation as soon as the private sector invests in it. He said that the government has announced concessions to airline companies through the Council of Ministers for the operation of Pokhara and Gautam Buddha International Airports. He said that the concession is being implemented and the government is aware of the delay. 

He said, 'The government is fully prepared for the operation of Pokhara and Gautam Buddha International Airport. We have also announced concessions to airline companies from the Council of Ministers. It is being implemented. It's a bit late. According to the work plan made by the government, we are preparing to evaluate which ministry has done how much work at the level of the Prime Minister.'

He said that there is no need to be too disappointed that the airport will not operate. He promised that the government will run both airports.

 Himalaya Airlines said that it is preparing for a flight from Pokhara to Lhasa in China.

He said, 'We have requested Nepal Airlines to fly to a certain country by reducing flights to other places. Buddha Airlines is also trying to do it by itself. So there is not much disappointment.
