Upendra Paudyal has been re-elected as the president of Confederation of Banks and Financial Institutions Nepal (CBFIN). CBFin's fifth general meeting held on Friday unanimously elected the leadership in all positions including the chairman except the secretary. According to which, 16 out of 17 members of the CBFin Working Committee were unanimous. Paudyal was also the president of the confederation.

However, an election has been held for the post of secretary. For that post, there was competition between Shine Resunga Development Bank Chairman Thaneshwar Poudel and Excel Development Bank Chairman Mahendra Kumar Goyal. In which Paudel won by getting 32 votes while Goyal got 23 votes. 55 people voted in the confederation out of a total of 76 voters.

The general assembly elected a new working committee under the leadership of Paudel. Rajesh Upadhyay, chairman of Mahalakshmi Bikas Bank, has been repeated as the senior vice-president. Kushaprasad Malli, chairman of Reliance Finance, and Prachanda Bahadur Shrestha, chairman of Himalayan Bank, as general secretary were unanimously elected as vice president.

Among the other positions that were unanimously approved, Tulsiram Agarwal, chairman of NIC Asia Bank, and Gaurav Budhathoki of Gorkha Finance were unanimously elected as co-treasurer.

 The tenure of the new working committee will be 2 years.
