Prime Minister Oli inaugurated the Sherpa tourism road in Lukla

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that due to the high temperature, the snow has started melting in the mountains and the government led by him has raised the issue in the international community for climate justice.

Prime Minister Oli while inaugurating the Nimdorji Sherpa tourism road that reached to Lukla Muni Surke said that it is sad that the highest mountain that provides the world with the cold black stone is sad and developed countries should be sensitive. He said that the Khumbu region, which is the highest peak in the world, is the most attractive tourist destination in the world and that the Nepalese government should be involved in the development of this region. He promised to build a black paper road up to Chaunrikhark, the center of Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality.  In the

program, Physical Planning Minister Devendra Dahal assured to manage the necessary budget to blacken the tourism road in Khumbu area. 

Defense Minister Manveer Rai said that the present government is committed to the all-round development of Solukhumbu, which has great potential in hydropower and tourism.

The Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Hikmat Kumar Karki, said that this tourism road will be useful in connecting Nepal's highest place, Kechnakwal, to the highest place in the world. Speaking at the

conference, Koshi state assembly and former minister Buddhikumar Rajbhandari complained that the federal government has neglected to give budget and programs to Solukhumbu. 

Municipality Chairman Mingmachiri Sherpa said that with the opening of the road to Surke, tourists will be able to use the road as an alternative to the air route. He said that the track of the road will be delivered to the municipal center Chaurikhark. 

Prime Minister Oli's team, which came with a jumbo team from the Nepali Army helicopter to inaugurate the road, returned to Kathmandu after staying at the venue for 3 hours. The road has reached Surke at a distance of 64 km from the headquarters Salleri. Lakpachiri Sherpa, the spokesperson of the municipality, said that the road that reached the border of Mapyadudhkoshi up to Kharikhola was extended until the road reached the unpaved road at a cost of 160 million including various hydropower projects and the municipality. 

With the opening of the road, now daily buses, sumo and jeeps take passengers to Surke under Lukla. Lukla Airport is 1 hour walk from Surke.
