An investment of 65 trillion is required for the production of 28,500 megawatts of electricity set by the government.

With this amount of investment, the investment worth 40 billion will remain in the country. Ganesh Karki, president of the Independent Power Producers Association, Nepal (IPPAN), said the huge investment would be positive.

President Karki said this while speaking at the signing ceremony of the financial management of the 49.95 MW Danakhola hydropower project promoted by Lalupate Hydropower Company.

Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Deepak Khadka signed the agreement on financial management. President Karki said that within 10 years, the domestic production of cement, Dandi and other hydropower will be made, and Nepal's economy will rise by spending 40 trillion on raw materials and jobs.

He recalled that the chain of Nepal's international electricity trade, which started with the 400 MW India export agreement during the tenure of former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, became a long-term agreement regarding the export of 10,000 MW during the tenure of former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Similarly, mentioning that 40 megawatt export has started in Bangladesh, Karki said that the future of Nepal's energy sector is bright when he advanced the roadmap of 28,500 megawatt with an export target of 15,000 megawatt just a few days ago.

Even when all aspects are positive for the development of the energy sector, he explained that if steps are not taken to solve the difficulties in this sector, this sector will never develop. He said that the application for the public issue of 41 hydropower projects has been stopped at the Securities Board for a long time, he said that if the bank does not give money, if the public issue that brings equity is also stopped, the project cannot be built.

Danakhola is one of the 4/5 good hydropower projects in Nepal and he wished the company to complete it on time. Mohan Kumar Dangi, chairman of the promoter company Lalupate Hydropower, said that unless the water is converted into electricity, the investment in hydropower will be zero, so there is no chance that the project will fail.

An investment of 9.96 billion rupees has been confirmed for the project. By issuing shares to 74 million locals, 1 billion 74 million will be invested from the operator and the rest from the bank. The project will be developed in Naso Rural Municipality of Manang.
