Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising, has said that the Upper Arun Hydroelectric Project is ready to be built with the investment of the Nepali people if there is no financial management from the World Bank and ADB.
Executive Director Ghising said that the process of Upper Arun Hydroelectric Project under the leadership of the World Bank is progressing with financial management from international financial institutions within June. He mentioned that if the financial management cannot be done even within June, there is a plan to build it on the model of Upper Tamakoshi with the investment of local banks and financial institutions and the Nepali people.
Ghising said, the authority will invest the Upper Arun Hydropower Project with Nepal government, state government, local levels of project affected districts, project affected district residents, common people's share investment, concessional loans from international multilateral development partners and loans from domestic banks and financial institutions. Ghising said that the necessary transmission line is also being gradually built for quality supply of electricity produced in Nepal. He informed that the transmission line started by the authority is almost ready to be completed. He said that the transmission of 120 KV from Butwal to Bardghat has also been completed.
