Increasing progress on Muglin-Pokhara road

At this time, the expansion of the main highway and the upgrading of it have been started somewhere. Due to the problem of traffic management on the highways with the highest traffic volume, the upgrading work has been started one after the other.

But where the work has been started by contract, the progress of those sections does not seem satisfactory. Even after extending the deadline several times, the work has not been able to accelerate.

Most of the problem is now in Narayangadh-Butwal section. The progress of this road, which was started on Chait 8, 2075, has not reached 53 percent. Construction workers did not work for long after Dasain. He kept delaying work showing money problems.

Now it has been 15 days since the start of the work, said Chudaraj Dhakal, project head of the Directorate of Projects (ADB). Payment has been made as per the work done. Its contract was taken by China State Construction Engineering Corporation. "The work that has been stopped for a long time has started," he said.

According to the initial contract, its work should have been completed by 22 July 2079. After the work was not completed within that time, the deadline was extended for the second time until July 8, 2081. The deadline has been extended for the third time till July 8, 2082 after the work was not completed during this period as well. Again, the construction company has asked for an extension till December 16, 2083.

"The builder claims to be able to work within the requested time," he said, "no decision has been made on this, now the deadline will not be extended without a guarantee that the work can be done." "Representatives have come to Nepal to understand and see from the head office," he said.

By dividing it into two parts, the contract amount is 16 billion 99 million 52 lakh 96 thousand rupees. Work has progressed on the Asian Development Bank (ADB) concessional loan. The contract for the 113 km road has been divided into two sections. So far 65 km one-way and 22 km two-way roads have been paved. In total, 70 km of 4 lanes, 29 km of 4 lanes with 6/6 meter service lanes on both sides, 14 km of 3 lanes on the lower side will have to be constructed.

The extension of Kamla-Kanchanpur, Muglin-Pokhara and Kakdvitta-Laukhi roads has been advanced with ADB's concessional loan. Under the Muglin-Pokhara road, the contract has been divided into two sections, Ambukhaireni-Jamune 1st (East) and Jamune-Pokhara 2nd (West). Its contract was made in 2077/78.

The total distance from Ambukhaireni to Pokhara is 80.33 km, with an overall physical progress of 53.5 percent. The contract for 9 km of Muglin-Ambukhareni section has not yet been concluded. Ambukhaireni-Jamune section has 70 percent progress and Jamune-Pokhara section has 37 percent progress so far. The initial deadline for Ambukhaireni-Jamune section was till 2081 Baisakh.

has now been extended until February 1, 2081. The deadline for Jamune-Pokhara section was till 12th August 2081, but the time was extended till 16th December 2082. "The progress on the Muglin-Pokhara road section is better now than before," he said, "the work is being done according to the schedule we have made." So far, only 35 km of two-way road has been constructed in the eastern section. In the west section, 18 km one-way and 5 km two-way has the first level blackboard.

The contract for the first phase was taken by China Construction Company Corporation. Its distance is 41.45 km. The contract from Jamune to Seti Bridge was taken by Yan Hui Construction. Its distance is 38.88 km. Even on the Kanchanpur-Kamala road, there is no money and no work has been done now. Dhakal said that preparations are being made to start the work. It is also divided into two parts.

The eastern section is 39.42 km and the western section is 36.99 km. Its overall physical progress is 52 percent. Project chief Dhakal says that 70.33 km out of 86.82 km should be constructed with two lanes, 16.50 km with four lanes, 6/6 meter service lanes on both sides, 54 main bridges, 218 culverts.

Charlane road 21 km has now been turned into a two-way road in the west section. He said that 17 and a half km one-way road is black in the eastern section. "However, the progress of Kamala-Kanchanpur is slow," he said, "due to lack of construction materials and money, the construction has not been able to accelerate." The contract was signed on October 13, 2077 to upgrade this road section. According to the contract, the construction should be completed by November 11, 2080, but the deadline has been extended until January 2081. As the time of adding

is running out, the builders have asked for a one-year deadline. The contract amount of both sections is 15.66 billion rupees. China Railway No. 2 Engineering Company has taken over the construction.

'There seems to be a problem of money in this section,' he said, 'again the construction company has asked for time, we have asked them to guarantee that the work will be completed within the requested time.' is happening

The highway section will have four lanes and six lanes with service lanes in urban areas. The work has been divided into three sections. Almost a year after the start of construction, the progress of all the three sections has not been cut by 10 percent. Overall the total distance of Kakdavitta-Labipur section (up to Laukhi) is 95.76 km.
