South Asia's first 'Churiyamai Tunnel' is being opened to the public from Monday after 8 months of reconstruction work. The tunnel route located in Hetauda sub-metropolitan city-15 along with Churiamai temple is being renovated and handed over for operation by the state government on Monday.
After this, the sub-metropolitan municipality has announced that the organized Churiamai tunnel will be opened for observation.
The municipality has made a procedure for operating the tunnel. 50 rupees per person for Nepalis who come to see the tunnel in this procedure, Rs 120 per person for foreigners, children under 5 years, disabled and Free for senior citizens, Rs 20 entry fee for students.
The renovation work of the tunnel was completed last May with the investment of the Wagmati state government . Meenakumari Lama, mayor of Hetauda sub-metropolitan city, said that the tunnel could not be opened to the general public due to the delay in the transfer process.
He said, "After the handover, 'Churiyamai Tunnel' will be opened for observation." After being transferred to the sub-metropolitan municipality, the municipality has made a procedure that can be transferred to the relevant committee for operation.
