Under the leadership of the Nepal Electricity Authority, the construction of the access road of the 1,63 MW Upper Arun semi-reservoir hydroelectric project to be built in Bhotkhola Rural Municipality of Sankhuwasabha has started.

Construction of the 21 km access road from the power house to the dam site of the project, which is geographically difficult and complicated, is being done in full swing. Out of 21 kilometers, two kilometers of tunnel construction have to be constructed.

Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-4 The access road leading from the proposed power house at Chongrang near Golabazar to the dam construction site near Chepuwa village of Ward No. 2 of the same rural municipality in the upper coastal area is under construction. Since there is no road to reach both places, the equipment that was brought to Golabazar through Koshi highway was opened and transported by Mi-17 and other small helicopters. So far, more than 300 trips have been transported.

A bunker for the storage of explosives needed for tunneling and offices and housing for the troops assigned to maintain it is under construction. After the completion of all these works, the tunnel can be dug from both sides of Namase and Rukuma.

Road track opening from Chongrang to Namase has been started . The project's office and staff housing construction has reached the final stage. The construction of the access road was affected for a year and a half due to the time taken in the approval process of land use and cutting of trees in the national forest area.
