The banking and currency management department of Nepal Rastra Bank has started service from the office at Thapathali from today. After the Thapathali office was destroyed by the 072 earthquake, the services of all the departments of Rashtra Bank were shifted to the Baluwatar office.

Now, after the construction of the new building is completed, the banking and currency management department has been transferred to Thapathali in the first phase, according to Rastra Bank. The notification was issued last week that the Banking and Money Management Department will be transferred to Thapathali from today (Pus 1).

Currently, Rastra Bank is providing services through 18 different departments. Out of which the banking and money management department has been shifted to Thapathali. All the activities related to banking from these departments are done by the banking department and the currency management, liquidity management etc. are done by the currency management department.
