For Pus, some banks and financial institutions have reduced the interest rate on deposits, while some have increased it. According to which, 14 of the 20 commercial banks in operation have kept the interest rate of one-year personal term deposits constant.

However, 3 of them have increased the deposit interest rate and 3 of them have reduced it. But compared to this November, the average interest rate of commercial banks has increased by 0.05 percentage points.

This November, the average interest rate of commercial bank's one-year term deposit  It was 5.97 percent. It is mentioned in the interest rate table published by the banks that it increased by 0.05 percentage points to 6.02 percentage points in January.

NAMI, Prime and Krishi Bikas Bank are the ones to increase interest rates in January compared to November. NMB has increased the interest rate by 1.03 percentage points to 6.6 percent. Prime Bank increased by 0.5 percentage points to 6.25. Similarly, Krishi Bikas Bank has also increased the interest rate by 0.04 percentage points to 5.57 percent.

NIC Asia Bank, Sanima Bank and Nepal Bank are among those who reduced interest rates in January compared to November. NIC has reduced the interest rate by 0.19 percentage points to 6.6% compared to December. Sanima Bank has reduced the interest rate by 0.1 percentage points to 6.05 percent in January compared to November  . The interest rate of Nepal Bank has also decreased by 0.35 percentage points in January compared to November and remained at 5.6 percent.

Banks and financial institutions should publish the interest rates for the coming months before the end of this month according to the instructions of the National Bank. The published interest rate cannot be revised for one month. Based on the same instructions, banks and financial institutions have reduced the interest rate of deposits for Pus.
