On Saturday, Nepal Oil Corporation increased the price of aviation fuel by Rs 2 per liter and the air fare has increased to Rs 90.
The previous price of aviation fuel was 126. After the increase of Rs 2 per liter by the Corporation, domestic airlines have increased the maximum price of air tickets sold by Rs 90. According to the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority, this increase is due to the fuel surcharge included in the ticket fee. Gyanendra Bhul, co-spokesperson of the authority, said that the authority has written to Nepal Airlines Corporation, Buddha, Yeti, Sri, Summit, Tara and Sita Airlines on Tuesday to implement the increased fuel surcharge from Wednesday.
When the corporation reduces the price of air fuel, the airline companies change the fuel surcharge of different sections according to that price. It is regulated by the air transport department under the authority.
