Construction of 400 kilovolt (KV) substation is going on in Bahrbise municipality of Sindhupalchok. The construction of 400 kV twelve-phase substation has been started to flow the electricity of the hydroelectric project to be built on the Tamakoshi and Sunkoshi rivers and their tributaries to the national transmission system and to strengthen the system within the country.

After construction of 220/132 KV and 132/11 KV substations at the same place, the testing of the equipment has been completed.

Gas Insulated System (GIS) based 400 KV twelve substation equipments have been supplied to the construction site. The construction of the civil structure to house the power transformer has been completed and is being installed. The civil structure of the building housing the control room, GIS equipment is under construction. Installation of equipment will begin after the construction of civil structures is completed. The overall construction progress of the substation is around 70 percent. The construction of the substation is being completed by next May.

After monitoring the substation construction site on Saturday, Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority Kulman Ghising requested the project management and construction professionals to complete the entire work before the specified time. After the completion of construction of 400 KV Bahrbise substation, the electricity of the hydroelectric projects built in Balefi and Bhotekoshi river corridors can be sent to Dhalkebar through the pair Bahbise-Khimti 400 kV transmission line in this substation, Ghising said. can be done Therefore, let's keep the construction of substation as a top priority and proceed with the remaining work quickly.'

Khimti, Bahrbise and Lapsiphedi 400 KV substations are under construction under the project. Under the Tamakoshi-Kathmandu 220/400 KV transmission line project, the construction of 43 km transmission line from New Khimti substation at Ramechhap to Barabise is in final stage.

Executive Director Ghising said that the construction of the Khimti-Bahrbise-Kathmandu transmission line, which has been facing problems such as land use and tree felling problems, and local obstacles, has reached a stage.

Out of 118 towers on the Khimti-Bahrbise transmission line, 117 foundations have been laid, 115 towers have been erected. 36 km of wire has been laid. The remaining one tower is under construction. Khimti-Bahrbise section is being put into operation by next January. A 46 km 400 KV double circuit transmission line from Bahrbise to Lapsiphedi in Kathmandu is also under construction. Out of 122 towers on the 46 km transmission line, 118 foundations have been laid. 117 towers have been erected. 42 km of wire has been stretched. The rest of the tower is being worked on.

Lapsifedi-Changunarayan 132 kV transmission line has been extended to penetrate the electricity flowing through Khimti-Bahrbise-Kathmandu in Kathmandu valley. Construction is affected due to local obstruction. After the completion of the 400 KV transmission line constructed by the American aid project Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), electricity can be transferred from Lapsiphedi to the new Butwal substation at Bhumhi in Nawalparasi (Bardghat Susta West).
