341 MW Budhigandaki hydropower project is going to be built in Gorkha with an investment of 70 billion rupees. It is said that the main investment of Courage Energy is the semi-reservoir hydropower project of Budhigandaki promoted by Times Energy.

A loan of 52.5 billion rupees has been taken from the bank for the project. 17 billion 50 million rupees or 51 percent will be invested in this project.

Budhi Gandaki hydropower project will have an annual capacity of 1867.77 GW. Similarly, it is said that the production capacity will be 320.30 gigawatts in the main dry season, 243.43 gigawatts in the normal dry season and 1304.04 gigawatts in the rainy season. It is said that the cost of the project is 205.3 million rupees. After the construction of the project, the electricity purchase and sale rate for 30 years will be 10.55 per unit in dry season, 8.40 per unit in normal dry season and 4.80 per unit in rainy season.

Budhigandaki's dam area is in Ward No. 3 of Chumanuvri Rural Municipality and Vidyut Griha is in Dharche Rural Municipality 3, according to the main investor company Courage. The investor aims to complete the project and produce electricity by December 15, 2008. It is said that the power purchase agreement (PPA) of the project has been completed, environmental impact assessment approval and financial management are in the final stage.

"Because the main physical structures of this project are underground, the risk of natural disasters such as earthquakes and landslides is low," Times Energy Management said, "The necessary road track for this project has been opened."

From the main promoter of this company, it is said that before this project, Ruru hydropower project with a capacity of five megawatts and Solukhola Dudhkoshi hydropower project with a capacity of 86 megawatts have been completed and connected to the national transmission line. Times Energy says that the return of Budhi Gandaki project is expected to be high as it has an experienced and competent board of directors as well as an efficient and competent management committee in the construction of power projects.
