The revenue collection for the first quarter of the current financial year 2081/82 has increased by about 17 percent compared to the same period of the previous financial year.
According to the details presented in the meeting held on Thursday by the Finance Ministry's High Management Committee, two trillion 76 billion rupees of revenue was collected during the same period last year. In the four months of the current fiscal year, Rs. 3 trillion 23 billion 24 billion revenue has been collected.
It is not seen if the government has been able to raise revenue as per the target. Looking at the comparative situation of revenue mobilization in the last five years, in the financial year 2076/77, there was 71.38 percent progress in the target of 11 trillion 12 billion 30 million rupees.

meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel mentioned that resources and expenditure management are important to achieve the goal of revenue collection, expanding the scope of taxes, collection of arrears, effectiveness of tax administration, employee conduct, inter-ministerial coordination, activities outside the customs point, challenges to be created in tax administration, etc. He said that it is necessary to move forward paying attention to the parties. He also instructed those who seek to break the tax collection system to take action to the extent of the law.
Finance Secretary Ram Prasad Ghimire said that the ministry will move forward to meet the revenue target and emphasized on the implementation of the revenue collection strategy. He pointed out the financial need for everyone concerned to work harder to achieve the revenue target.
Finance Ministry spokesman Mahesh Bhattarai said that despite the increase in revenue collection compared to the past, coordination and cooperation between all parties related to tax administration is necessary to meet the target of the current financial year, and the ministry is working on it as a priority.
Director General of Customs Department Harisharan Pudasaini and Director General of Inland Revenue Department Ram Prasad Acharya said that they are doing their best to meet the target of revenue collection by taking into account the opportunities and weaknesses that have emerged in the field of revenue collection.
