The immigration office has come into operation at the border post (No. 24 border post) between Nepal and China located in the upper part of Mustang.
Previously, only Mustang residents who had obtained permission from the district administration office used to travel to Corolla Naka for business. It is believed that the operation of the office will make it easier for any Nepali who wants to travel through this border.
Nepal has established a 10-room immigration and security post of prefab technology at Korola border crossing. For the operation of the immigration office, the government has extended the central transmission line of the electricity authority up to Korla crossing and provided the mobile service with internet of Nepal Telecom.
China has built a customs office as well as other necessary infrastructure at Corolla border. Inaugurating the office today, Home Minister Ramesh Alekhar expressed his belief that with the operation of the Immigration Office, the bilateral relationship with China will be further strengthened. He said that the immigration office will be important for enhancing bilateral trade along with the movement of citizens of the two countries.
