In the first month of the financial year 2081/82, there has been a significant improvement in remittances compared to the previous year. Remittance inflow increased by 18.0 percent in the month of July alone and reached 1 billion 36 billion 93 billion rupees.
Nepal Rastra Bank on Thursday released the current economic and financial situation of the country based on the data of the first month of the fiscal year 2081/82.
Remittance inflow increased by 22.8 percent in the same period of the previous year. Remittance inflow in US dollars has reached 1.2 billion. Last year, such remittance was 879.8 million.
During the review period, the number of Nepalis who took the final work permit (institutional and individual-new) for foreign employment is 36,928 and the number of those who took the work permit again is 22,647. During the same period of the previous year, such numbers were 39,152 and 16,423 respectively.
