Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel and China's Deputy Prime Minister He Lifeng had a meeting in the capital of China, Beijing. On that occasion, mutual interests and cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister of China He Lifeng said that the implementation of cooperation projects will be accelerated according to the declarations and agreements made in the past on behalf of the Chinese government. He has promised to provide more support to Nepal in the future.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Paudel has requested to advance the construction of Kerung-Kathmandu railway, Tokha-Chhare tunnel, Kimathanga-Hile, Hilsa-Surkhet-Bhurigaon road, Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology, Damak Industrial Park etc. Similarly, they have also asked for support for the expansion of direct air services from various cities in China to Bhairahawa and Pokhara International Airports. Mahesh Bhattarai, spokesperson of the Ministry of Finance, who is in the
tour team, informed that the Chinese government is positive towards the request made by Nepal and has expressed its commitment to move forward with the work.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Paudel, Ambassador of Nepal to China Surendra Yadav, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Finance Bhattarai, officials from the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers participated in the meeting which lasted for about an hour.
Deputy Prime Minister He Lifeng, Transport Minister Li Xiaofeng, Beijing Metropolitan Government Mu Feng, National Railway Administration Chief Fei Dong Wing, Civil Aviation Chief Song Cheong and other officials participated on behalf of the Chinese government.
