The government has started a job fair to bridge the gap between employers and job seekers. The fair, which started from Koshi province on Thursday, will be held in all the seven provinces. The fair has started under the leadership of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security and organized by the state, local level and concerned bodies. The fair will continue till Friday in Koshi.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal while inaugurating the fair which started at City Palace Hotel and Resort in Biratnagar said that the government has allocated new programs and budget for job creation in the coming financial year. "This fair will help to implement the policies, budgets and programs taken by the government to create employment," said Prime Minister Dahal, "We have considered the agricultural sector as the basis for employment creation, and we have created employment programs so that the information and technology sector takes the lead." He said that the Prime Minister's Employment Program will be restructured to create jobs. Prime Minister Dahal claimed that the government will implement the concept of employment bank to ensure employment according to knowledge, capital, skills and technical ability. "The government is implementing the concept of employment bank to develop entrepreneurship and work on employment demand and supply by using the labor skills and experience of those who have returned from foreign employment or in Nepal," he said. To ensure this, the government has made necessary arrangements in the budget.'' Agents are reaching homes to send foreign jobs. However, the opportunities in our internal labor market have not been identified. The number of foreign workers in the domestic labor market is increasing. This fair has been organized to give that opportunity to Nepali workers," he said.

He informed that a labor recruitment call center was established some time ago to manage foreign employment and promote internal employment and it is working effectively. Minister Aryal said that the labor fair was started when there was no budget and it will be expanded further in the coming years. "It's not about how many jobs the fair will provide, it's about starting something," he said. "Next year, we will organize it very well." An industrial environment is needed for job creation. Investors are suffering from banks' policy weakness. I request the Prime Minister to remove it and create an investment environment," he said. According to Labor Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyay, the fair will promote internal employment and organize foreign employment. Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Industries and Commerce, said that only if we can create an environment for investment, a lot of job opportunities will be created.

The 'Shramadhan Rozgar Mela' held in all the seven states of the country will end on May 30 in Lalitpur of Wagmati state. The fair is considered as a mediating platform for potential and utilization of skill and capacity development. The job fair will be a meeting point for job seekers and employers. Treatment facilities for the working families belonging to the

fund

The families of informal and foreign workers affiliated to the Social Security Fund will get medical facilities from now on. Labour, Employment and Social Affairs Minister Dol Prasad Aryal made a formal announcement about the facilities extended by the fund on the occasion of the Shramadahan Rojgar Mela which started from Biratnagar on Thursday.

Previously, since January 2079, the fund has included husbands or wives of contributors in the formal sector in medication facilities, and effective from May 17, the procedure has been amended so that only the families of informal and overseas workers can get medication facilities. Along with this, husbands, wives and children under the age of 18 of workers who have gone to informal and foreign employment will get medical treatment facilities of up to 1 lakh rupees per year. Uttamraj Nepal, the director of the

fund, informed that the procedure was revised three months ago and it has been implemented since Thursday. Likewise, the fund has reduced the eligible period for receiving treatment facilities from nine months to three months for informal and foreign workers. Earlier, there was a provision to qualify for treatment facilities only after nine months of starting to contribute to the fund.
