During the Jen–Ji movement, a prisoner who had escaped from Rautahat Prison was arrested in Hetauda on Thursday night. The Makwanpur police arrested 34-year-old Shailendra Sah, also known as Shailendrakumar Sah, of Rautahat Maulapur Municipality–7, from Karra in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City–4.
Sah, who was serving a sentence in Rautahat Jail for currency offenses and organized crime, had escaped by breaking out of jail on the night of the 24th during the Jen–Ji movement on Bhadra 23 and 24.
About 11 months after breaking out of jail, Sah was arrested by the police on Thursday night while walking on the road in Karra, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City–4, according to Madhav Prasad Kafle, spokesperson of the District Police Office Makwanpur and Deputy Superintendent of Police. Excluding the prisoners who escaped from Bhimphedi Prison during the Jen–Ji movement, Makwanpur police have already arrested and sent to jail 73 prisoners, including Sah, who had escaped from prisons in other districts.
