One person died in Chitwan on Friday when a cylinder exploded while refilling AC cooling gas. Another person was seriously injured.
According to Chitwan police, 30-year-old Pramod Koirala of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-12 died in the incident. Imtiaz Dewan, 28, of Paterwa Rural Municipality-5 in Parsa, who was seriously injured in the incident, is undergoing treatment at the teaching hospital of Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur.
Chitwan District Police Office spokesperson DSP Chandra Bhusan Yadav said the cylinder explosion occurred at around 3:15 pm at Royal Pharmaceuticals, a medicine factory located in Ganesh Tole of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-16. According to him, the explosion happened while refilling AC cooling gas with a cylinder named Kalton 410A on the second floor of the factory.
Koirala, who was undergoing treatment at the government hospital in Bharatpur, was declared dead by doctors after 4 pm. DSP Yadav said further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
