Chitwan National Park has taken two people into custody with a rifle, a Mauser rifle and bullets that look like tiger teeth. A case has been filed against them in the Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) District Court on Monday, July 24.
According to the information provided by Conservation Officer Avinash Thapa Magar, who is also the Information Officer of Chitwan National Park, they are Khadganarayan Chaudhary, 68, of Setopani, Madhyabindu Municipality-1, Nawalparasi, and Tek Bahadur Magar, 52, of Ichchakamana Rural Municipality-5, Chitwan. They were arrested during a joint "Operation Covert" by the park staff and the new Gorakh Battalion deployed for park security.
They were arrested at Brahmathan Ghat, Madhyabindu Municipality-3. Later, when Khadganarayan's house was searched, Information Officer Thapa Magar said that seven weapons that look like tiger teeth have been recovered along with guns and bullets. In addition, 136 Indian currency notes of Rs. 500 have also been recovered.
A case has been filed against them for the crime of buying and selling tiger teeth and attempting to kill rhinos, according to Chitwan National Park.
