With the aim of minimizing the risk of floods and landslides, the District Administration Office, Makwapanur, has banned night-time vehicles from entering Kathmandu from Hetauda on the two main roads.
Due to the possibility of disaster risk, vehicles going from Bhimphedi-Deurali to Kathmandu via Hetauda will be held at the checkpoint from 8 pm on Saturday to 5 am on Sunday, and vehicles going to Lalitpur via Kanti Lokpath will be stopped at Choughada from 6 pm to 5 am as per prior notification, the District Administration Office, Makawanpur has stated.
Landslides can occur in various parts of the Hetauda-Bhimphedi-Deurali-Kathmandu short-distance road route and the Baghjhora stream is at high risk, so night vehicle operations have been banned, said Pradya District Administrator Basanta Adhikari.
'Kanti Lokpath road is also at high risk of landslides, so night vehicle operations have been banned,' he said.
