The repair work of the Chisapani Bridge located in Bhimphedi-6, which is a short alternative route to Kathmandu, has been started.
The Chisapani iron bridge connected to Bhimphedi Bazaar is very dilapidated, so the repair work has been started. The work of removing the iron from the unused iron trust bridge on the Bhainse-Bhimphedi road section and placing it on the bridge is underway.
The repair work has been started because the wood laid on the Chisapani Bridge, which was built about 4 decades ago, has rotted and the iron sheets have also rotted, causing problems in the movement of vehicles, said Naveen Singh, Chief of the Transport Infrastructure Directorate of Bagmati Province, Hetauda.
As the repair work is underway, vehicles traveling between Hetauda and Kathmandu have been diverted to the river, making it easier to travel.
Singh, head of the Infrastructure Directorate, said that more than 2,000 vehicles cross the bridge daily, which is 3 meters wide and 40 meters long.
