A 15-bed basic hospital has come into operation in Bagmati Rural Municipality, located in the far east of Makawanpur.

The Shahid Smriti Basic Hospital, built at a cost of Rs 180 million in Bagmati Rural Municipality-5, has started conducting health examinations of patients since Friday. The building, which was started three years ago, was recently completed, said Sarkesh Ghalan, chairman of the rural municipality.

The 15-bed hospital has facilities including maternity services, eye examinations, dental services, outpatient services, vaccination services, video X-rays, and laboratories, said Dinesh Gupta, head of the municipality's health department.

The hospital, located about 60 kilometers from Hetauda, ​​has 15 health workers including doctors. Gupta said that this hospital will also be useful to residents of Hariharpurgadhi in neighboring Sindhuli district and Mahabharat Rural Municipality in Kavre.

The construction of this hospital building, built on one and a half bighas of land at a cost of about 180 million rupees with the investment of the federal government, began three years ago. There are health posts and basic health centers in all the wards of Bagmati Rural Municipality, which is divided into 9 wards.
